Custom Aliases

A custom alias allows you to choose the exact text that appears at the end of your short link. Instead of a random string of characters, you can create a memorable and descriptive URL.

Why use Custom Aliases?

Custom aliases provide several key benefits for your brand:

• Higher Click-Through Rates: Users are more likely to click a link that clearly states its destination.
• Brand Consistency: Keep your marketing campaigns looking professional.
• Memorability: wonzly.com/summer-sale is much easier to remember and type manually than wonzly.com/XyZ8P.

How to Create a Custom Alias

1. Go to your Dashboard.
2. Click on My Links in the sidebar.
3. Paste your long URL into the destination field at the top.
4. Enter your desired alias in the next field (e.g., black-friday-deal).
5. Click Shorten.

How to Edit an Existing Alias

If you want to update the alias for a link you have already created:

1. Go to My Links in the sidebar.
2. Locate the link you want to edit.
3. Click the three dots (⋮) icon on the right side of the link.
4. Select Edit Link from the dropdown menu.
5. In the modal that opens, update your Custom Alias.
6. Click Save to instantly apply your changes.

Formatting Rules

When creating a custom alias, please keep the following rules in mind:

• Use only alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9)
• Hyphens (-) and underscores (_) are allowed
• Spaces and special characters (!, @, ?, etc.) are strictly prohibited
• Aliases are case-sensitive
